OUR PROJECT

Project Detail PROJECT

Significant changes have occurred in both vocational education and the design and production of industrial products, especially since the 2000s. Vocational education has shifted from a general to a more specialized approach. Professionalization has emerged in the manufacturing sector. Welding is now considered a new profession under the fields of metal and mechanical engineering. Our school is very close to OSTİM and İvedik Organized Industrial Zones (OSB). There is always a demand for technically skilled personnel with good welding knowledge in these areas. However, our school’s facilities and curriculum are insufficient in training students with the necessary welding skills that meet the needs of the job market. This project has been prepared to help bridge this gap. What is Welding? Welding is the process of cutting metals in various ways and then rejoining these parts using different methods. In this context, the issues and needs we aim to address are:
• The lack of an updated practical curriculum in welding education and the outdated nature of the existing curriculum.
• The shortage of educational videos for welding training.
• Problems faced by both students and teachers during welding applications in school lessons.
• The importance of collaboration with institutions and partners across Europe.
• The demand for qualified personnel in the metal, machinery, and steel structure industries.
